School Council

At Stanton Cross Primary school we believe that children should have a say in their education. We value the opinions of our pupils and our School Council gives the children a voice in the school community.

The council works with Mrs Peachey, but is led by the children themselves. We have elected school council representative from each class, during Democracy Week, who attend the regular meetings as the house captains.

It is their responsibility to share their class’s opinions and thoughts with the rest of the council; keep any important notes and report any developments back to the other children (and the teacher) in their class! The children bring with them ideas for future projects to raise money for the school or for a chosen charity and discuss future possible, fun activities for the school.

The School Councillors are always on duty and always open to ideas and suggestions to help improve the school.

Below our events that our School Council have helped plan at Stanton Cross Primary:

Christmas Raffle - We raised over £200 for the school to help buy outfits for our Christmas Nativity performance.

Children In Need - School raised a successful £116 towards this worthy cause.

Comic Relief - We successfully raised a whopping £214 for Comic Relief.

Easter Raffle - We successfully raised over £200 for the school from our Easter Raffle.

School Mufti Day - Children brought a £1.00 to wear their own clothes to school.

Book Drive - We asked parents to come along and purchase books for a donation.
